The Prince Estate and Legacy Recordings have officially dropped Timeless, a newly curated posthumous album featuring 10 rare and previously unreleased tracks from the legendary artist’s vault. Released on August 28, 2026, the collection marks the first Prince album designed to span every major era of his illustrious career, tracing his artistic evolution from 1977 to 2016.
Accompanying the album’s launch is the release of a new single and music video for “The Guilty Ones,” a track Prince completely produced, composed, and performed in 2007 at Paisley Park. The album’s chronological journey begins with the 1977 Minneapolis recording “I Am You” and concludes with a live performance of “How Come You Don’t Call Me Anymore?” from a 2016 tour stop in Oakland, capturing the enduring connection he had with his audience. Other notable highlights include the intimate 1991 track “With This Tear” and the 1995 funk-driven recording “Stone”.
Producers L. Londell McMillan and Charles F. Spicer Jr. curated the project to showcase Prince’s fearless innovation and restless imagination. To ensure authenticity, the collection was mixed and mastered by Chris James, a Grammy-nominated former engineer for Prince who personally recorded the album’s 2012 track, “Bestest Friend,” during original studio sessions.
Arriving during the 10th anniversary year of the musician’s passing, Timeless was initially announced to fans in June at the annual Prince Celebration in Minneapolis. The album is currently available across all major streaming platforms, as well as on CD and vinyl formats—including a special limited-edition purple marble pressing available through his official stores.
